INGREDIENTS :

  • 4 cups Puffed Rice/Murmura
  • 2 tbsp Ghee
  • 1 cup Jaggery
  • 1/2 cup Roasted Peanuts
  • 1/2 tsp Cardamom Powder
  • 1 pinch Salt


How to make Murmura laddu?

First of all, we will check whether Murmura/puffed rice is crunchy or not by pressing it with a finger. If not, then we have to make it crispy/crunchy.

For this, we will take 4 cups of Murmura/puffed rice and dry roast it on low flame. It will become crispy in about 3 to 4 minutes. You can check by pressing with your finger.

Now we will make jaggery syrup. For this, we will take 2 tbsp of ghee and 1 cup of jaggery in the pan keep it on low or medium flame and melt it. We will not use water here. We will get a different flavor because of the ghee.

We have to keep stirring it continuously and make syrup. To make the perfect Murmura laddu, we have to cook the syrup completely. There will also be a slight change in the color of the jaggery.

Put some syrup in a cup filled with water and see if it is spreading or not. If the syrup freezes in one place then it is ready and if it spreads in water, then you have to cook it.

It is very important to check this. Because this will decide how your laddus will be made.

After that, add 1/2 cup of roasted peanuts, 1/2 tsp of cardamom powder, and 1 pinch of Salt. Mix it well.

When the syrup is made, switch off the flame put puffed rice in the syrup, and mix it well. Keep mixing until both become one mixture.

Now make laddus from this hot mixture with the help of a hand. Because it will cool down, then it will be difficult for you to make laddu from it.
