INGREDIENTS :

  • 1 bowl/250-gram Jaggery
  • 2 spoon Water
  • 50-60 gram Sugar
  • Some Cardamom powder
  • 1/8 tsp Baking Soda
  • 250-gram roasted Peanut

Which variety of peanuts to choose from?

To make Chikki, take peanuts of that variety which have big size grains. Do not take peanuts with small seeds at all. And don’t take the peanuts which have a high amount of oil. Due to the high amount of oil, there is a change in the taste of chikki. Which does not taste good at all.

The color of the chikki will come according to the color of the jaggery you take in making chikki.



Peanut Chikki recipe step by step :

First of all, we will roast the peanuts. Dry roast the peanuts until they turn golden brown and the aroma starts coming.

After that, separate the skin from the peanuts. As an optional step, gently crush the peanuts with the hand or the base of a cup to bring out the nutty aroma.

Now we will take 2 pieces of butter paper and apply some oil between them. Will keep it on the side. We will need this in the end.

Now we will take a wok and put it on gas on medium flame. In a wok, we will take 1 bowl/250-gram jaggery, 2 spoon water, and 50-60 gram of sugar. We will let it become syrup. Along with cooking, we have to keep stirring it continuously.

When jaggery and sugar melt properly, then bubbles will start coming into it. After it is properly melted, its color will also change slightly. Then we will put some cardamom powder and 1/8 tsp baking soda in it and mix it well.

Now we will shut off the gas. And finally, we will put peanuts in it. You have to mix them well. After mixing well, we will keep it on butter paper. Then cover it with butter paper and spread it with a rolling pin. With which we will be able to give it the shape of Chikki.

After it cools down a bit, remove the butter paper from above and cut the chikki into small pieces with the help of a knife.

Keep in mind that chikki should not be allowed to cool down completely, otherwise, you will not be able to cut it properly.
