However, you may make a basic Gajak sweet at home by following this short recipe. However, by using this recipe, you may not only prepare it quickly but also get the desired texture and flavor.

So let us share with you our Til Gajak Sweet Recipe.

Ingredients :

  • 300 grams of White Sesame
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 300 grams Jaggery
  • 4 tbsp or 1/4 cup or 60 grams of Ghee
  • 1/4 tsp Baking powder
  • 1 tbsp Cardamom powder
  • Some Dry fruits


How to make Til Gajak sweet?

First of all, take 300 grams of white Sesame and roast it by putting it in a pan.

Roast the Sesame while stirring continuously so that it does not burn. Then after it is roasted, keep it to cool down.

To make Til Gajak, you have to take jaggery in the same quantity. Since we have taken 300 grams of sesame here, we will also take 300 grams of jaggery.

Now put 1/2 cup water and 300 grams of jaggery in a pan and melt it on medium flame. You have to melt it while stirring continuously.

When it gets melted, turn the flame high and put 60 gram of ghee in it and stir it continuously and make it thick by cooking it for 2-3 mins.

Check the consistency of the Jaggery by putting some drops of it in water and if it will get crispy then turn off the flame.

After that, add 1/4 tsp baking powder and mix it properly.

Then we put the sesame seeds we had roasted in them. And mix it properly so that the sesamum gets coated well with the jaggery.

Spread the mixture on a dish that has been greased with ghee, and then set the plate aside for 30 minutes.

When it cools down, cut it into small pieces and grind it with the help of a mixer.

Take it out in a big bowl and add 1 tbsp of cardamom powder and mix it.

Take a tray and put butter paper in it and then set the ground mixture in it properly by pressing it and garnish it with some chopped pistachios and press it as well.

Then cut it into pieces and the very tasty and different Til Gajak sweet will get ready in this way.

Tips for making Til Gajak 

  • Roasting the sesame seeds properly is crucial for achieving the perfect texture and flavor. Dry roast the sesame seeds on low to medium heat until they turn light brown and fragrant. Be careful not to burn them. 
  • Store the til gajak in an airtight container at room temperature. It should stay fresh for up to a month.
