Ingredients :
- 1/2 Bowl Barley
- Water as per Barley’s quantity
- 500 ml Milk
- 1/2 Tsp Cardamom Powder
- 8 Tbsp Sugar
- Some Almondette (Chironji) Seeds
- Some Almonds
- Some Pistachio
- 1 Tsp Custard Powder
Steps for Barley Pudding :
To make Barley Pudding, we have to take 1/2 bowl of barley soaked for 24 hours. The soaked barley grains will swell up and will break if pressed further. If you take such barley, it will make a very good pudding. We will put it in the cooker and we will put water in it. You have to pour double the water into the bowl of barley you took.
We have to boil barley. Barley will boil in 2 to 3 whistles. After boiling, we will remove the water and we will mash the barley a little with the help of a potato masher.
After that, add half a liter of milk to it. We have to cook it on medium flame. In this, we will add 1/2 tsp of cardamom powder for taste. After that, we will put 8 tbsp of sugar in it so that our pudding will become sweet.
We will let it cook by slowing down the flame a bit. We will put saffron in it. If you do not have saffron, then you can mix a teaspoon of custard powder in some milk and add it. This will also give a very good taste to the pudding.
Now we will add some almondette (chironji) seeds, some almonds, and some pistachios to it, which will make the pudding more healthy and tasty to eat.
