Here we will give a simple Palak Paneer recipe.
Ingredients :
For paste :
- Water
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1 bunch of spinach/palak
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 chopped ginger
- 7-8 pieces of garlic
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 cup chopped tomato
- Salt to taste
- some quantity of green coriander
- 1 chopped green chili
For Curry :
- 200 grams paneer/cottage cheese
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- 2-3 chilies dry whole red chili
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp red chili powder
- 2 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 cup curd
- 2 tbsp roasted Gram flour
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp fresh cream
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
Steps for a simple Palak Paneer recipe
First of all, wash the spinach/ palak thoroughly in running water.

Now put 1/2 cup of water in a pan and put it on the gas on medium flame. Then put 1/2 tsp sugar and spinach in it.
When it starts boiling, turn off the flame and take out the spinach, and immediately put it in the ice-cold water.
By doing this, the flavor, color, and texture of spinach will remain the same.

Now put 1 tbsp oil in a pan and heat it. Then put 1/2 tsp cumin seeds, 1 chopped ginger, and 7-8 pieces of garlic in it and roast it.

After that, put 1 cup of chopped onion and 1 cup of chopped tomato. Cook it a little and add salt according to taste.

Then add 1/2 cup water to it. Now cover the pan with the lid and let it cook. It will take 3 to 4 minutes to cook.
After it is cooked, switch off the gas and let it cool down.
Then put it in the mixer jar, put some coriander leaves, 1 green chili, and boiled spinach, and grind them.

Spinach/ palak paste is ready to make Palak Paneer.
Now put 1 tbsp oil and 1 tbsp butter in the pan and heat it on low flame.

Then put 1/2 tsp cumin seeds and 2-3 dry whole red chili in it and fry it.

After that, we will add 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp red chili powder, and 2 tsp coriander powder and mix it well and cook it.

Now add 2 tbsp roasted gram flour in 1/2 cup curd and mix it properly. Then put it in the pan and mix it well too.

Now add spinach paste to the pan and mix it. Cook it covered with a lid for 3 to 4 minutes.
Then put salt as per the taste and some fresh cream. Mix it and cook it for some time.

Now, gently add the softened paneer cubes to the spinach gravy. Allow it to simmer on low heat for 3-4 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Turn off the heat, and your delicious Palak Paneer is now ready to be served hot.
You can enjoy eating Palak Paneer with Naan, Roti, Puri, or Boiled Rice for lunch or dinner.
Tips to make perfect Palak Paneer
- Choose tender and vibrant green spinach leaves and soft, fresh paneer.
- Saute the paneer cubes, do so gently to avoid breaking them. Golden-brown paneer cubes add a delightful texture to your Palak Paneer.
