Ingredients of Sitafal Basundi
- 1 kg Sitafal (custard apple)
- 1 liter of full-fat milk
- 2-3 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 cup milk powder
- 8-10 cashew nuts
- Cardamom powder
- Sliced almonds and pistachios
How To Make Sitafal Basundi
In a heavy-bottomed pan, pour the 1 liter of full-fat milk and bring it to a boil.
Reduce the heat and let it simmer while stirring continuously. Continue simmering until the milk reduces to half its original volume.
Now, here is the trick to separate custard apple seeds.
Put the Sitafal (custard apple) in the chopper and rotate it slowly.
When you do this the seeds will separate from the Sitafal pulp.
Then take out the seeds with a spoon. Keep Sitafal pulp pulp aside
In a mixer jar, put 2-3 tbsp sugar, 8-10 cashew nuts, and 1/2 cup milk powder. Grind them.
After that, add 1/2 cup of milk in it and grind it again.
Then add this mixture to the pan. Mix well and continue to cook for 4 to 5 minutes on medium heat.
Once the right consistency is achieved, turn off the gas and let the Basundi cool.
After that, add Sitafal pulp into the pan and mix well.
Then add sliced almonds, sliced pistachios, and cardamom powder. Mix them.
You can also add saffron strands for a touch of elegance (optional).
