INGREDIENTS :

For Namkeen Gujiya Filling :

  • 1 Serving Spoon Oil
  • 1/4 Tsp Asafoetida/Hing powder
  • 1 Spoon Fennel
  • 1 Spoon Cumin seed
  • 1 Spoon Dried Fenugreek Leaves
  • 3 chopped Green chili
  • 1/2 Spoon Crushed Red Chili Powder
  • 1 Spoon Red Chili Powder
  • 1/2 Spoon Black Pepper Powder
  • 1 Spoon Roasted Cumin Powder
  • 1 Spoon Coriander Powder
  • 1/4 Tsp Turmeric Powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Black Salt to taste
  • Some Coriander leaves
  • 1/4 Bowl Peas
  • 4-5 Boiled Potato
  • 1/4 Cup Roasted Gram Flour
  • Some Cottage Cheese/Paneer

For Mawa Gujiya Filling :

  • 1 Cup Khoya/Mawa
  • Coconut Slices
  • 1 Spoon Raisins
  • 1 Spoon Cashew Nuts
  • 2 Spoons Sugar Powder
  • 1 Tsp Cardamom Powder

For Dough :

  • 1 Bowl of Wheat flour
  • 1 Bowl of All-Purpose flour
  • 1/4 Tsp Salt
  • 5 Tbsp Oil
  • Water as required
  • Oil for frying


How to make Gujiya?

Steps for Namkeen Gujiya :

First of all, take 1 serving spoon the oil into a pan, and heat it. Then add 1/4 tsp asafoetida/hing powder, 1 spoon fennel, and 1 spoon cumin seed and fry it.

After that, add 1 spoon of dried fenugreek leaves and 3 chopped green chilies and cook it.

Then add 1/2 spoon crushed red chili powder, 1 spoon red chili powder, 1/2 spoon black pepper powder, 1 spoon roasted cumin powder, 1 spoon coriander powder, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, salt as per taste, and black salt according to taste. Mix well and cook.

Then we will put some coriander leaves and 1/4 bowl of peas in it. Mix and cook the peas.

Now we will put 4 to 5 boiled potato in it. Mix it and cook it. Lastly, add 1/4 cup roasted gram flour and mix it.

Switch off the gas and let it cool down. After it cools down, add grated paneer to it. Mix it properly.

Now to make Gujiya, make pieces as many as the size of Gujiya from this potato filling.



Steps for Mawa gujiya :

To make Mawa Gujiya, take 1 cup of khoya/mawa in a pan and roast it. You have to roast it only a little.

Then add some coconut slices, 1 spoon of raisins, and 1 spoon of cashew nuts and mix them.

Now let it cool down. After that add 2 spoons of sugar powder and 1 tsp of cardamom powder and mix it properly.

Mawa is ready for Mawa Gujiya. We will make small balls of it in the shape of Gujiya.

Steps for Dough :

For this, put 1 bowl of wheat flour, 1 bowl of All-purpose flour, and 1/4 tsp salt on a high-hipped platter. Mix it properly.

Now add 5 tbsp oil to it. Mix it by rubbing it with both hands. With this, both flours will be properly mixed.



Now add water according to the need and make dough. The dough should not be made too hard and should not be too loose. You have to keep it moderate.

After the dough is made, you have to cover it with a wet cloth and keep it for 15 minutes.

Steps for preparing Gujiya :

Now take a small back of the dough. Keep it in between the palms and roll it to make a ball.

Then take whatever frying spoon you have. Put flour on it. Then, by placing the balll of dough on it, press it with your hand. Which will be flattened.

Then put the filling balls we made on it. And tie it from both sides and give it the shape of a Gujiya.

In the same way, we have to make both types of Gujiyas.

Now it’s time to fry it. You have to fry it on medium flame till it turns golden brown.

In this way, both types of Gujiya will be prepared.
