You must have made Bread bonda or Aloo bonda many times at home or eat it outside, but today we will make it in a very different way, which is very crunchy and also very tasty to eat.

Ingredients :

For Masala :

  • Oil
  • 1 Tbsp Garlic
  • 1/2 Tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1/2 Tsp Whole Dried Coriander Seeds
  • 1/2 Tsp Fennel Seeds
  • Grated 1 Tbsp Ginger
  • Finely chopped 2-3 Green Chili
  • Less than 1/2 Tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 Tbsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 Tsp Red Chili Powder
  • Less than 1/2 Tsp Crushed Red Chili
  • 1/2 Tsp Roasted Cumin Powder
  • Salt to Taste
  • Black Salt to Taste
  • 5-6 Boiled Potato
  • Coriander Leaves For Garnishing

For Batter :

  • 250 gram chickpea flour
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • 1 Tsp Carom Seeds
  • 1/2 Bowl Water
  • 2 Pinch Baking Soda

For Bread Vada :

  • Bread Slices
  • Some Lukewarm Water
  • Some Bread Crumbs
  • Oil


Steps for Bread Bonda :

First of all, we will take a wok. We will put 1 tbsp oil in it. Now we will put 1 tbsp of garlic in it and fry it a little. Then keep the garlic slightly aside, add 1 tbsp garlic, 1/2 tsp cumin seeds, 1/2 tsp whole dried coriander seeds, and 1/2 tsp fennel seeds, and cook them all. After that, add the grated 1 tbsp ginger and finely chopped 2-3 green chili and mix it well.

Now we will add spices to it. We add less than 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tbsp coriander powder, 1 tsp red chili powder, less than 1/2 tsp crushed red chili, 1/2 tsp roasted cumin powder, salt as per taste, and black salt as per taste and then mix it well.

Now we will put 5 to 6 boiled potatoes in it after making a crusade with your hands. Now mix it well and then put green coriander on it. Now Bread bonda masala is ready.

Now we will make batter for bread bonda. For that we will take 250 gram chickpea flour sifted in a bowl. In this we will add salt according to taste, 1 tsp carom seeds and water as per need and mix it well.

We have to maintain the consistency of batter. You have to mix them properly.

Now we will make balls of the same size from the masala we have prepared.

Now we will take the bread and we will cut its edges with a knife. You have to take as much bread as you have made balls of masala. After that, we will grind the bread edges by putting them in the mixer.

Now we will take some lukewarm water. Dip the bread in it, then take it out and press it with hands to remove all the water by squeezing. Then we will cover the masala balls we made with that bread. In this way, we will cover all the balls with bread.

Now we will mix 2 pinches of baking soda in the batter we have prepared and will also fix the thickness of the batter. Now we will put the ball in batter and cover it with batter. After that, we will cover it with bread crumbs.

Bread bonda will become crunchy because of bread crumbs. It will be more tasty to eat it.

Lastly, we will fry all the balls in oil. We will fry it till it turns golden brown.

The crispy Bread Bonda is ready. You can eat it with tomato catch-up or green chutney or curd.

Tips for making the perfect Bread Bonda

  • You can add other vegetables like grated carrots or cabbage to the batter for added flavor and nutrition.
  • For baking, bake the balls in the preheated Oven/Convection/Air Fryer at 180 degrees for 15-20 min by applying some oil to them.
  • Serve the Bread Bonda immediately after frying for the best taste and texture.
