In a heavy-bottomed pan or kadai, bring the 2 cups of water to a boil on medium flame.

After that reduce the flame of the gas and add 1 tsp of cumin seeds, 1/4 tsp hing, 2 to 3 tsp sesame seeds, and 1/2 tsp carom seeds. Mix them.
