INGREDIENTS :
- 400 gram gooseberry/Amla
- 3-4 spoons of water
- 400 gram jaggery
- 2 tsp roasted cumin powder
- 1/2 tsp asafoetida/hing powder
- 1 tsp ajwain/celery
- 1 tsp black pepper powder
- 1/2 tsp black salt
- 1/2 tsp rock salt
- 2 tbsp amchur powder
- Sugar powder for coating
How to make Amla Candy?
First of all, you have to take about 400 grams of Gooseberry/Amla and wash them thoroughly.
Now, if you want, you can give it steam or you can whistle it in a pressure cooker. But when we put a whistle in the pressure cooker, then we have to boil it in less water.
Now put Gooseberry/Amla and 3-4 spoon water in a pressure cooker and boil it for 2 whistles.
After that, take out the Gooseberry/Amla and cut it and remove the seed. Then grind it with the help of a mixer.
Do not add water while grinding. Only if needed, you will add 1 tbsp of water. Make Amla paste.
Now take a pan and keep it on the flame on the gas. Then put Amla paste in it and cook it for 2 to 3 minutes.
Now we have to put jaggery in it. You have to take jaggery in the same quantity as you have taken the Amla. Because we had taken 40 grams of Amla, so here we will take 400 grams of jaggery as well.
Mix both properly and cook them well.
Then add 2 tsp roasted cumin powder, 1/2 tsp asafoetida/hing powder, 1 tsp ajwain/celery, 1 tsp black pepper powder, 1/2 tsp black salt, 1/2 tsp rock salt, and 2 tbsp amchur powder. Mix properly and cook.
You have to cook it for 3 to 4 minutes so that it becomes slightly thick. Which we could make candy out of it.
They are ready now. We have to let it cool down at room temperature for 3 to 4 hours. After that, we will make candy from it.
To make candy, take powdered sugar. Take a little Amla mixture and coat it with powdered sugar also apply powdered sugar on your palm and roll it to make a candy.
