Chilli paneer is made with paneer, which is a type of Indian cottage cheese, and a fiery blend of spices that create a burst of flavour in every bite.
The paneer is coated in a thick sauce made with a combination of soy sauce, vinegar and other condiments, giving it a tangy and spicy taste that’s simply irresistible.
Here is an easy chilli paneer recipe.
INGREDIENTS :
For Marination
- 400 grams Paneer
- 1 spoon of All-purpose flour
- 2 spoon of Corn flour
- 1-1.5 spoon Red Chilli powder paste
- Water
- Salt to taste
- Oil
For Chilli Paneer
- Oil
- finely chopped Garlic
- finely chopped Ginger
- 2-3 chopped Green Chilli
- Chopped Onion
- Chopped Capsicum
- Salt to taste
- Black Pepper powder
- 1 spoon Soya sauce
- 1 tbsp Vinegar
- 1 tbsp Green Chilli sauce
- Red Chilli powder paste
- 1/4 cup Tomato catch-up
- 2 spoon of Corn flour
- 1 bowl Water
- Chopped Spring Onion for garnishing
Steps for dry Chilli Paneer recipe :
First of all, to make Chilli Paneer, we will mix 1 teaspoon of all-purpose flour, and 2 teaspoons of corn flour, both well.
Now we will put the soaked paneer pieces on the plate and put the flour we have mixed on it and mix them by hand. After that, add red chilli powder paste and the remaining corn flour and mix it well. Now add salt and red chilli powder paste and mix well again.
Now take a pan and put oil in it to fry the paneer. We have to shallow fry the paneer only. This paneer will become crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
Now here we will prepare liquid for chilli paneer gravy and sauce. For that, we will take a bowl full of water. Add 2 spoons of corn flour to it and mix it.
Now we will take two spoons of oil in the pan and keep it on the high flame on the gas. After that, put finely chopped garlic in it and fry it. After that, put finely chopped ginger and green chilli in it. We will fry them lightly. After that, we will mix all the chopped onions and capsicum in it.
Now add salt as per taste, black pepper powder, 1 spoon soya sauce, 1 tbsp vinegar, 1 tbsp green chilli sauce, red chilli powder paste and mix it well.
Lastly, add 1/4 cup tomato catch-up and mix it well. Now we have to put 2 serving spoons of corn flour liquid in it. Mix it well and let it cook. After it is cooked well, add paneer to it and mix it well and let it cook well too.
So, a very tasty Chilli Paneer is ready. You will use Chopped Spring Onion from above for garnishing.
Steps for Chilli Paneer with Gravy :
If you want to make Chilli Paneer with gravy.
The same process for that also, but instead of the 2 serving spoons of corn flour liquid that we had put in, we would add some vinegar to the whole bowl of corn flour liquid and mix it and put that whole bowl in the pan of Chilli Paneer.
After that, let it cook well and add half a teaspoon of soya sauce to its gravy. Soya sauce will give a good colour to the gravy and enhance the taste of Chilli Paneer.
Now our Chili Paneer with gravy is ready.
Tips for Chilli Paneer Recipe
- Soy sauce and other condiments used in the sauce already contain salt, so be careful while adding additional salt to the dish. Taste the dish before adding more salt to avoid making it too salty.
- Chopped spring onions make a great garnish for chilli paneer, adding a fresh and crunchy texture. Sprinkle them on top of the dish before serving to enhance its presentation and taste.
